The first is on the subject of titles, as you can see from the... title?
Anyway, the reason I'm talking about this is because I was just looking at some stuff on the front page. I saw two different photographs/manipulations and the first one was titled "constellations." The second one was titled "homeless dreamers" or something along those lines. When I saw those titles and the pictures, I started to think. The latter of the two that I mentioned showed a girl on a mattress with an old wall in the background. That relates to the title, right? Because the wall looks like it's outside and therefore she's sleeping on a random mattress because she has no home. At the same time, it's a mattress and she's lying on it which signifies sleeping and therefore dreaming; however. The first one I mentioned, "constellations" was a photograph or something alike to it (I'm sure it was a photograph) of the face of a woman with long dark hair and that's what I remember about it. I just kind of always wondered where artists get abstract titles like that. Constellations doesn't really have to do with the face of a young woman unless her acne is so bad you can make constellations from it... but I really don't think that's the case somehow...
I know that titles all have to do with the person creating them and what was going on in their mind when they took the picture or uploaded it, but when I draw things and doodle odd shapes sometimes I want to put them on dA but I can never think of titles like that. Today I had this idea for a drawing that I want to make a good copy of with some colour and put it up here, but I wouldn't be able to title it something abstract like that. I'd have to make it literal. I guess I'm just not good at that, but I'd kind of like to understand the process, unless there is none, which may be true, as titles and such can just come to you.
(Grandma Nora's home-baked cookies.)
But I just thought it was kind of interesting to think about.
The second thing I want to write about is these certain types of deviations I see increasing in quantity around the site all the time. I'm seeing all these things in which someone takes a picture of an everyday item like a muffin or something (food is especially common) and they photoshop cutesy little faces on them. I just kind of wonder where people get the idea for that... because I'm not really sure how it's super creative or anything. All you do is take a picture of something and stick a face on it. Yeah, sure, it's cute, but... what's the point? Sure, I know you don't have to see meaning in everything... most of my drawings don't have inner meaning, but why do they do that? It's not like it's a real character interacting with another character or showing their personality or anything... it's just... a thing with a face. I don't really get it.
And you see it too when people draw muffins and cupcakes (ESPECIALLY cupcakes) and put face on them and line them up in patterns or use them for note paper or borders for drawings or make stickers or decorations, and sure, then I can see why you would do that. For deco. But just a picture submitted? And these things make the front page.
This has nothing to do with the eggs that people draw faces on because I can see the comedic value in that. Ha.
Also, the funny thing was, before I wrote the second paragraph, I went out into the hallway to find my sweater and I looked out the window, and the sky looked really strange. A random word popped into my mind: industrialization (this has to do with what we're doing in school). And then I can see how you would get the titles. If I had batteries I would take a picture of the sky and put it up here and call it industrialization just because. But instead I thing I'll use my sugarcane-paper notebook to write a poem with interesting symbols because right away I started getting ideas.
Anyway, I'm done with my rant of sorts. Yay.

Nobody wants to be the last one there. Everyone wants to feel like someone cares, someone to love with my life in their hands, there's gotta be somebody for me out there.
